Chuck Black started writing books to get his own children interested in reading the Bible. He wrote the Kingdom Series, a series of allegories which expand the testaments. The books transport readers back to a time when chivalry reigned. The stories feature knights living out the Biblical stories and leading readers to Jesus and his reigning triumph on high. His current series is The Knights of Arrethtrae and Sir Rowan and the Camerian Conquest is one of the newest books in this series
Plot of Sir Rowan and the Camerian Conquest

Sir Rowan grew to be a fine swordsman who was also versed in the ways of the Prince and the code. Eventually the only interest Rowan had was the sword, and going against Aldwyn, he began to enter tournaments. Rowan is very successful in the tournaments, wins lots of prizes and is lauded as the hero of Cameria.

Finally he is rescued by a maiden named Mariah. Mariah is a follower of the Prince, and Rowan falls in love with her. Rowan and Mariah travel to his homeland to get his prizes but discover it is taken over by evil people who wish him gone. They leave under protection of night and return to Mariah's farm.
Rowan and Mariah begin to train to help save Cameria. But Sir Lijah, a mysterious knight, comes and tells Rowan his destiny is in far off place. The trio travel to the place, but Mariah is killed in the process. Lijah and Rowan discover they are brothers as well.
