Storyline of God Gave Us the World
Little Cub and Mama Polar Bear are on their way to visit the museum's Bears Around the World exhibit. While going Mama talks about all the different kinds of snow while the pair catch snowflakes on their tongues. Little Cub finally asks if all bears are the same.
Mama explains that bears live in different places and look different as well. She explains that God made the big wide world and all the different kinds of bears. He gave the bears the perfect places to live around the great big world.
As Mama and Little Cub visit the exhibit they see panda bears, sloth bears, grizzly bears. Little Cub is amazed to see the different places the bears live and learn about the different foods they eat. He asks if these other bears miss the snow. Mama explains that you can't miss something you have never known
Mama and Little Cub further go on to discuss how perfect the world they live in is for them. They decide God created the world because that is what he does create, and He put all the creatures on the Earth to worship and serve him. They talk about how old the world is and how important it is to take care of it.
Little Cub wishes she could meet another bear so they could become friends. She falls asleep thinking about her special world and all the other bears all over the world.
Illustrations of God Gave Us the World
Laura J. Bryant did the artwork for these beautiful book. She uses paintings to add another dimension to the story. Her illustrations display not only where Little Cub lives and the images he sees, but she beautifully shows the other bears and their habitats. The illustrations feature not only the bears, but other natural wonders that they would see as well.
